In a non-hierarchical and non-anthropocentric attempt to align with the rhythms and tempos of the earth, I look for their locus in my immediate environment. Through plein air painting and video, I follow their traces.
Right now, I’m spending time with the slow, fluid movements of rivers and wetland streams that run through my city—perceiving through my senses how water meets earth, wind, light, and other lifeforms. I absorb these vibratory movements, performing them through my body and materials.
This is how I begin to understand the complexity of rhythms moving through the world around me: by moving with them, and moving them through me. Each gesture becomes an iteration—an act of learning, remembering, and returning. A way of being in relation.
