Statement

I started doing walking art on my first overseas walk in Italy, doing the Cinque Terre. From this I began my journey walking the Camino, from France and Portugal ending in Spain. The walks range from 300km to 800km. I create ephemeral work along the way using natural environment (rocks, leaves, flowers, logs, moss and sticks or digging into the ground to create shallow pits ) around me, creating symbols about the journey. Focusing on the place and my connection to it through head/body/spirit - the 3 phases one goes through while doing a long walk. These works are than documented and categories according to location on the walk.
